Angus Chad - Member since 2018 "In May of 2019 I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in my neck. The injury was incredibly painful and the bulge in my neck was impeding a nerve route. As a result, I had lost 90% of the strength in my left triceps and some strength from my left wrist and fingers. Surgery was recommended by a neurosurgeon. I booked it in. Throughout this 6-week period I contacted personal trainer Neil Eden to supervise and instruct me at gym. Neil had helped me with a previous neck and shoulder injury sustained from long hours of computer work sitting at a deck. Neil understood my problem and created workouts that would avoid aggravating my injury and helped me recover and maintain my strength. Whilst waiting for my surgery Neil and I noticed a substantial improvement in my pain and strength level. I postponed the surgery for 1 week. We noticed a further improvement. I postponed the surgery week after week for 4 weeks and each week Neil and I noticed improvement in my condition. After 4 weeks I now have 95% of the strength back in my arm and have cancelled the surgery completely. I strongly believe the work I did with Neil at the gym assisted my body to heal itself and was the major contributor to being able to avoid surgery on my neck.I have worked with other personal trainers in the past I can say that Neil’s experience and knowledge makes him the best trainer I have worked with. I would recommend Neil to anyone who needs help with an injury or who has plateaued at the gym."

For many years I had suffered from frequent lower back pain and was seeing a chiropractor with good, though not great, results. After the initial assessment Neil believed that I would benefit from core and stomach strengthening and the results have been excellent - now I have almost no lower back pain and a noticeable increase in overall strength (as well as being three kilos lighter than when we began!) We also focused on improving hip flexibility, again with very obvious improvement. If you read Neil’s biography you will see that he has overcome some enormous challenges in his life and has such a positive attitude that he is an inspiration by what he does as a person. I have trained with a number of personal trainers over the years and have a good understand of how a personal trainer can contribute to your physical and mental progress and I also have a good understanding of how far I can push myself to achieve my goals. I came to work with Neil for a completely different reason, I had fallen off a ladder and seriously damaged my ankles, to the extent I was in a wheelchair and had to virtually learn to walk again. I was looking for someone who knew how my body worked, assess what my progress was and what was need to get to the end of this journey. Massimo Piccardi - Member since 2016 After my right hip replacement (I was 53), personal trainer Neil Eden put me back on my feet wonderfully. Even some time after the surgery, I was still sore and I was afraid I would never get back to walking with confidence and pleasure. At the gym that I was attending (Heart and Soul), Neil took me under his wing and started to rebuild my posture and self-confidence. He worked with me for 6 months, a long session per week, + a couple of times a week on my own. I have regained balance, strength, mobility and straightened up my shoulders and back. I feel levels of energy and well-being that I am not sure I enjoyed when I was 30. Highly recommended to anyone.
